xwinwrap, xmountains and other useful things

Having installed xmkmf (in order to compile xmountains), x–windows libraries (libx11–dev and libxrender–dev), disabling nautilus from managing the desktop and switching off advanced desktop effects, I am now able to run xmountains as my desktop background.

If disabling desktop effects is not something you wish to do, you can use xwinwrap to run the application on the background:

$ xwinwrap –ni –fs –s –st –sp –b –nf –– xmountains –b –r 1 –Z 1 –window–id WID
